* Not the best day. I let myself get out of control with regards to the cookie buffet placed in our work kitchen yesterday. If I never got started picking at it, I never would have gotten out of control.

General Site Notes: As you can see, I've finally gotten around to making a new layout, so I've graduated from the pre-designed Blogger templates. Unfortunately, I'm very rusty at the whole Blogger customization thing, so I still have to work on setting up comments and some other things. I hope to get that done soon.

General Me Notes: I met with my new therapist yesterday, and (knock on wood!) she seems to be a really good fit. She seemed to really understand what I was trying to say, and had some good insights. I've set up another appointment for next week. Let's hope this continues to work out!

In other news, did I mention to you guys that I am going on a cruise at the end of the month? I have never gone on a cruise before. My husband and I are going with his brother & sister-in-law, who are super fun to hang out with. We have signed up for some really fun excursions too, particularly swimming with dolphins, snorkeling, and river tubing in Belize. I think getting out and doing some really fun, active stuff will be really good for me.

I also finally got our pool pass for the neighborhood pool. It's only going to remain open for a few more weeks, but at least we'll get to go a few times this year. I wish they would have come earlier so we could have gone swimming on some of the really hot days last week.

I had forgotten to mention that another thing I am back to working on is my depression. After a long time of floundering after my negative experiences with Nutty McAppletree, I have set up an appointment with a new therapist, one who specializes in body image and eating disorders as well as depression and anxiety. Even though I had just called today to schedule the appointment, they gave me a spot tomorrow at 1pm. I'm just really proud of myself for taking action and getting over my negativity. And I just feel like I really, really need the counseling right now. I'm certainly feeling better than I was just a couple days ago, but the past few months have been rough. And I want the next few months (and years, and decades, etc) to be great.

I have been struggling and floundering for several months now, and I've been letting it wear me down. Because of this, I think it's time to wipe the slate clean and start fresh. If you wish to read any of my old blog entries, you can access them here.

My goals for this blog are to:
+ Post on a more consistent basis.
+ Keep my meal tracking & progress in one central location.
+ Give myself a fresh start.

My general plan for getting back on the wagon is:
+ Go to weekly WW meetings again.
+ Follow the WW Flex plan.
+ Purge the fridge of trigger foods.
+ Plan easy & tasty meals that fit into WW flex.
+ Slowly build a regular workout plan.
+ Avoid sugar wherever possible.

Other goals of mine are to:
+ Become more productive at work.
+ Spend more time working on creative projects.
+ Work on a short story to submit to a publication or contest.
+ Read more fiction.
+ See more movies.
+ Stay within the confines of my budget.
